I would like to thank my wife who, even though she definitely denies it, proved to be imaginative and scrupulous. To her I owe the name of this site and a great many of the ideas concerning easier and more rational ways of getting around the site. Infinite gratitude to Alessandra Doratiotto De Giorgi and Carlo Streit who by working together were able to perfectly unite the beauty of art and the rationality of science to give life to the "tavoledifumetto" project.
Inception
Whilst staying at a cousin's house as a child, I happened to come across a massive box full of comics that were destined to be thrown away. I started reading some and swiftly grew quite passionate about them; I was quite struck by the fact that my cousin was about to throw them away. By the end of my visit I'd decided I was going to adopt the box, so I brought it home with me. Needless to say that massive box happened to contain the first editions of Alan Ford. It was the Summer of '71. My passion for the series lasted until issue 76, at which point the disappointment at the farewell of the supreme Magnus and my love for slightly more serious(?) literature took the upper hand. Many years later, as I was getting things ready to move to a new house, I found all my comics again. I still remembered most of the dialogues, the inventions and the literary references that the greatest comic strip duo ever had succeeded in creating. I learned something about myself that day: I'm a lot more passionate about irony and weaknesses rather than about the strength and the integrity certain comic strip heroes often have. Irony brings to laughter and thought while seriousness is tiring and oppressive. Therefore, hurray for Voltaire, down with Rousseau. From that day I decided to complete the collection and randomly happened to find myself in a particular place: the land of Original Art. There's something about it that makes it special...they trick us into thinking that ownership, transitively, extends itself to the creative thought of the artist himself. I love illusions because they tell the best stories and they're easier to accept than reality. Finally, as well as hoping you'll enjoy all the images, I'd like to let you know that none of the Original Arts are for sale. Swaps with Original Arts of my interest though is definitely possible. Welcome!
